This morning I reflected on Elijah's faith in pouring out so much water on the altar that he made it utterly impossible for any fire to consume it. A.W. Pink's words regarding this story challenged me immensely:
He (Elijah) was so sure of God that he feared not to heap difficulties in his way knowing that there can be no difficulty unto One who is omniscient and omnipotent. The more unlikely the answer was, the more glorified therein would be His master. O wondrous faith which can laugh at impossibilities, which can even increase them so as to have the joy of seeing God vanquish them! It is the bold and venturesome faith which He delights to answer.
