Planting seeds in suburbia ought not to be a burden but a joyful experience for the whole family. This past weekend I gathered my family together and we took off to Lowe's to pick up some flowers to plant in our front yard. Little did I know that God had a different kind of planting in store for us that day.
While we worked together to plant the flowers a few of our neighbors stopped by along with their kids. It was a great time to interact with them. In fact, one of our neighbors stayed and talked with us for pretty much the entire afternoon. We were grateful to God for teaching us a little parable about the simplicity of planting seeds in our community. All we need to do is be available and faithful to plant seeds in our neighborhood trusting that over time God will bring the growth.
