Yesterday I began reading the book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni. It is a New York Times Bestseller and I'm beginning to see why. Although it's a secular book, much can be gleaned from Lencioni's thought-provoking insights about what it takes to lead others to work effectively toward a common goal. I plan on posting more thoughts as I read through the book, but for now here are the 5 Dysfunctions he lists along with the corresponding results of how it affects a team.
1. Absence of Trust -> Invulnerability
2. Fear of Conflict -> Artificial Harmony
3. Lack of Commitment -> Ambiguity
4. Avoidance of Accountability -> Low Standards
5. Inattention to Results -> Status and Ego
