Eugene Peterson, from his book on the life of David entitled, Leap Over a Wall:
One of the great impoverishments of many adult lives is the absence of children's stories, whether read or told or listened to. I want to argue that all the great stories get their start as children's stories. That's because when we're children we're discovering the world from the ground up. We're working with the basics. And no matter how long we live, no matter how mature we become, we're never removed from the basics.
I agree with Eugene Peterson! We need children's stories. We need the basics to rediscover the wonder and imagination of the world around us. It made me think, what children's stories should I be reading? Any recommendations?
