Renewal and Obedience

This message from Nehemiah 10 calls us to move beyond good intentions into real, life-shaping obedience. After hearing God’s Word and confessing sin, the question remains: What will we do about it? In this passage, God’s people respond with concrete commitments, reordering their relationships, rhythms, and worship around His holiness. But the message doesn’t stop at commitment. It exposes a deeper reality: We cannot sustain faithfulness on our own. Our hearts drift. Our resolve fades. That’s why the gospel is essential—Christ has fulfilled what we could not and gives us new hearts through His Spirit. Because of that, obedience is no longer about striving harder, but living out what God has already done within us. As we guard our relationships, reorder our lives around trust, and prioritize worship, we begin to reflect the reality that we belong to a holy God.
