Stand Up and Walk
In this exploration of John 5:1-16, we're challenged to confront our spiritual paralysis and recognize our desperate need for Christ's healing touch. The story of the man at the Pool of Bethesda serves as a mirror, reflecting our own helplessness in the face of sin. For 38 years, this man waited, much like we often wait by the 'pools' of self-help, therapy, or religious performance. But Jesus seeks us out, asking the pivotal question: 'Do you want to get well?' His healing comes not through our effort, but through His sovereign mercy and authoritative word. This passage beautifully illustrates how salvation works - Christ's call not only invites but enables us to rise and walk in newness of life. As we reflect on this, let's examine where we're placing our hope for healing and transformation. Are we trusting in Christ alone, or are we still waiting by the pool?
