I Believe in the Coming Judgment
Standing at the threshold between time and eternity, we're confronted with one of Christianity's most sobering yet hope-filled truths: Jesus Christ will return as judge. Drawing from Revelation 19 and 20, alongside 2 Timothy 4, this message takes us into the courtroom of heaven where every person—the living and the dead, the great and the small—will stand before the throne. The imagery is stunning: A white throne representing perfect purity, books opened revealing every thought and deed, and the Book of Life determining eternal destinies. What makes this message so powerful is its dual nature. For those outside Christ, it's a warning that justice delayed is not justice denied—every wrong will be made right, every secret revealed. But for believers, this same judgment becomes our greatest comfort, because the Judge is also our Savior who already bore our condemnation on the cross. The question isn't whether judgment will come, but whether we're ready when it does. This truth should transform how we live now—with urgency for the lost, endurance through suffering, and assurance in Christ's finished work.
