    The Proclamation of His Coming

In this week’s Advent message from our Behold, the King series, we explore one of the most stunning moments in Scripture—when heaven breaks into the ordinary world of overlooked shepherds to announce the arrival of the true King. Luke 2:8–20 shows us that God does not deliver His good news to the powerful, the polished, or the spiritually impressive. He brings it to people who have nothing to offer except their need. Through the angelic announcement, the heavenly celebration, and the shepherds’ obedient response, we see that the birth of Christ is not just a moment to admire—it is a proclamation that demands a response.

    The Preparation for His Coming

In this Advent message from Luke 1:26–38, we look at Mary’s encounter with the angel Gabriel and discover what it truly means to prepare for the coming of Christ. God initiates His saving work in grace, reveals His redemptive plan in the person of Jesus, demonstrates His power through the miraculous conception, and invites His people into a humble response of faith. Mary’s story teaches us that Advent is a season of trust—trust in God’s initiative, trust in His promises, trust in His power, and trust that His Word never fails. Join us as we reflect on how Mary’s faith shapes our own as we await the coming King.

Isaiah 9:1-7 | The Promise of His Coming

As we enter the season of Advent, we're invited to confront an uncomfortable truth: we live in profound darkness. Isaiah 9 speaks to a people crushed by enemy invasion, weighed down by their own failures, and wondering if God has abandoned them. Yet into this bleak moment comes one of Scripture's most radiant promises—a great light will dawn. This isn't just ancient poetry; it's the announcement that God himself will pierce our darkness with divine intervention.
